Demystifying Marketing for Nonprofits

The Nonprofit Resource Center at the Fayetteville Public Library and the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business present Demystifying Marketing for Nonprofits with Molly Jensen on Friday, April 6th from 1pm to 4pm in the library's Walker Community Room.

Overview:
How do you know if your nonprofit needs a marketing plan? Do you know who your target market is for your services? Who is your target market for fundraising? How do you execute a marketing plan that you already have? Are your current efforts being wasted? If you can relate to these questions you and your board need to come to this one day workshop.

This free workshop will focus on getting the tools necessary to answer these questions. Participants will leave knowing where their organization stands in terms of marketing and how to move forward. Topics covered:

  • How to set marketing goals
  • How to position your Nonprofit
  • How to conduct a marketing audit
  • How to develop a marketing plan
  • How to develop a promotional plan

Learning objectives:
A Marketing plan is a process as much as an end product. This workshop will help educate and guide your organization through the stages of process. You will focus on discovering your organization’s needs and begin to establish a plan. As each topic is covered, participants will work in teams on their own organizations. The purpose is to leave with tools and understanding of what your organization needs with regard to marketing and outreach.

Who should attend?
We recommend the Executive Director and anyone that works with the marketing, promotion or outreach of the organization. It is encouraged that two or more members of your organization attend, either employees or board members.

The workshop structure:
1. Introduction and warm up 1:00 to 1:30
2. Demystifying marketing 1:30-2:30
3. Marketing planning group work 2:30 – 3:30 pm
4. Organizational execution/wrap up 3:30-4:00pm
