The Friends organization was founded in 1982 to support the Fayetteville Public Library in its mission through volunteering, fundraising, and advocacy.
2014 ANNUAL MEETING - JANUARY 27TH AT 4:30PM
The Friends of the Fayetteville Public Library will conduct their annual meeting on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. in the Walker Community Room. All Friends members are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served. The election/business meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m.
The annual meeting serves as a review of the past year and to elect new board members by the membership. After the election, a short board of directors meeting will elect officers for the upcoming year. A nominating committee was appointed and they have proposed a slate of nominees for new terms. Julie Fish, Peggy Werner, Steven Neuse, and Janet Gorman were submitted and accepted by the board for nomination for new terms.
Nominations will also be accepted during the meeting. Nominees from the floor must be Friends of the Fayetteville Public Library members, present at the meeting, and agree to serve.
Through membership dues, the Friends Bookstore and annual book sales, The Friends of FPL provide funding to assist the library. On-going support includes enhancing library collections, programs and services. To date, the Friends of FPL have pledged a $250,000 donation to the Library’s National Endowment for the Humanities grant.
I would like to join the friends!
