Preparing for the Great American Eclipse

Lobby

Drop by the lobby on Sunday, August 13 to prepare for the Great American Eclipse.  To safely view the eclipse, you must properly protect your eyes.  The Fayetteville Public Library will be distributing special eclipse viewing glasses to help you enjoy the solar show.

On Monday, August 21, everyone will be watching the sky for the solar eclipse.  To experience the total eclipse, you will need to travel to cities in places like Missouri or Kentucky.  However, do not despair if you cannot travel for the event.  Weather permitting, the eclipse is visible throughout the United States and Fayetteville is in the 90% solar eclipse viewing zone.

For more information on the solar eclipse, visit NASA's Eclipse 2017 website.
