We have concluded our 2014 public meetings.  We would like thank everyone who attended for their participation and valuable feedback.  Your input will help us as we plan for the future.

Proposed Expansion

Level 1 - Parking

(1)  Parking and entry vestibule to upper level multipurpose hall and library space.

 

Level 2 - Parking

(2)  Parking: contiguous from existing library level 2 (note that the parking crosses over Rock St.)

 

Level 3 - Parking

(3)  Parking: contiguous from existing library level 2

 

Level 300 - Lobby Level

(4)  Library Square (passenger drop-off, programming and landscape plaza)

(5)  Multipurpose Hall (level 300 and 400; on level 400 are controls, storage, and fly-loft)

(6)  Expansion space (can be used as upper level plaza and program space)

(7)  Library Bridge (children’s area expansion, new young adults and “maker space”)

Who is MS&R?

In February 2013, the Fayetteville Public Library board commissioned Jeffrey Scherer, FAIA of Meyer, Scherer, & Rockcastle, Ltd.(MS&R) of Minneapolis, along with Anders Dahlgren of Library Planning Associates, to conduct a needs analysis and facilities study for the library which resulted in the 2030 Master Plan adopted by the Library board in October 2013. 
 
 
The team of MS&R are familiar with the library and its rapid growth. In 1997, they conducted the first public sessions and produced the first 20 Year Master Plan for the Fayetteville Public Library in 1998 resulting in the construction of the Blair Library.
