Director's Welcome
On behalf of the staff and volunteers of the Fayetteville Public Library, welcome. Come inside, make yourself comfortable and stay awhile.
We bid farewell to our executive director of 12 years, Louise Levy Schaper, on October 30, 2009. Next time you visit Blair Library, you’ll notice that our lobby has been named in her honor so that all who enter may feel her spirit. Thank you for your support as we go through this time of transition.
Our mission is to strengthen our community and empower our citizens through free and public access to knowledge.
Our vision is to be powerfully relevant and completely accessible.
How can the library stay true to its mission and work toward its vision in light of the local, national and world economy and under new leadership? One way is by listening to our patrons. We’d like to know what you think.
- What do you really like about Fayetteville Public Library? What are we doing that’s working for you?
- What’s not working for you, and what would you like to see different at Fayetteville Public Library?
- What do you expect from Fayetteville Public Library now, next year and in 5 years?
Please tell us by clicking here or emailing questions@faylib.org. Although we won’t be able to act on every suggestion, we appreciate everyone’s response and promise to listen with an open mind.
We pledge to provide you and every member of our community a welcoming and accessible destination. You can expect courteous and complete attention to all of your inquiries and suggestions, as well as accurate and timely service. You can also expect diverse and balanced collections, cutting-edge technology, and broadly themed programming, all of which make our library a leader in the enrichment of our community.
