Randal W. Tyson Children's Library

The Randal Tyson Children’s Library is located on the first floor of the Blair Library. Barbara Tyson’s generous gift in memory of her late husband named the children’s area and set the scene for a vibrant, fun, educational adventure. The colorful, welcoming setting is perfect for reading, studying, and playing. The four reading niches feature an educational experience by depicting the four elements of nature: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. These themes are enhanced in each niche through color, fabric, chair cut-outs, and murals. Be sure to check out the metal dragon, Jabberwocky, in the Fire Niche. He is over 30 years old and was designed and gifted to the library.  He is a memory for every child who has ever visited Fayetteville Public Library.

Programming for children is offered five days every week and includes programs for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary students. Please visit our calendar of events for dates and times for all Youth Programming.
