About the Instructor: Michelle Hopkins has an undergraduate degree in sign language interpretation from Quincy University and a Master’s of Education in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education from Saint Joseph’s University. She has worked as an educational interpreter in Southeast Iowa for students between three years old and third grade and a teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing, working with infants and their families and school age children through high school. Her passion has continued to grow because of her work with both children who had hearing loss and their hearing peers who absorbed American Sign Language (ASL) instruction like sponges.
