Join us for a panel discussion featuring University of Arkansas Graduate Painting Seminar students.
Inspired by Zadie Smith’s essay, “Something to Do”, the University of Arkansas Graduate Painting Seminar conceived a group exhibition for the Fayetteville Public Library. In her essay, Smith is interested in how artists carve out time for their practice, and how this relationship to time has been affected by the recent pandemic. The exhibition, titled "Shaping Time Into Something Other Than Itself", features paintings created within the last 18 months. The featured artists represent a diversity of personal backgrounds which can be felt in the variety of the work. In the exhibition, works are paired to invite unexpected connections and discoveries for the viewer.
