Advancing Digital Equity and Broadband Opportunities for Residents of Fayetteville

Joanne Hovis, CEO of the Coalition for Local Internet Choice, will engage with community members to discuss ways to raise awareness about the importance of digital equity and build strategies and opportunities for advancing high speed broadband for all residents.  Joanne co-authored “The Emerging World of Broadband Public–Private Partnerships: A Business Strategy and Legal Guide,” which was published by the Benton Foundation (https://www.benton.org/sites/default/files/partnerships.pdf).

The City of Fayetteville, the Fayetteville Public Library, the University of Arkansas Libraries, and Fayetteville Public Schools are working to improve access to digital services and programs. This event is being hosted to kick off public engagement for the City’s Digital Inclusion Plan and is a call to action to invite the community to work with the Digital Inclusion Task Force in the coming months.  See more information at www.fayetteville-ar.gov/digitalinclusion
