Join Contact Improv facilitator Kyndal Saverse on the third Wednesday of each month for a guided Explorative Dance class.
Explorative Dance emphasizes techniques that are relaxed, investigative, and playful. It uses improvisational practices to invite movers to safely try new and creative ways to explore their own body and rhythms. Unlike dances that provide specific choreographed movements, Explorative Dance gives prompts that develop a flexible movement vocabulary ultimately allowing the dancer to make their own free-form choices in their own time. Movers will find their choices change as they are influenced by other movers in the group.
Explorative Dance may evolve to contact with others, which in this class will be guided by the instructor. Each class will end with a “Jam” where participants can move, play, and interact freely. All ages and experience levels welcome!
Kyndal Saverse is a dancer, mover, yogini and full time FPS educator and coach. She is the founder of Fayetteville Movement Festival and is passionate about using dance (and movement) as a way to bring people together to discover their own sense of sovereignty and personal divinity through the arts.
