About the Foundation Center

Established in 1956, the Foundation Center is the nation's leading source of information on philanthropy. It connects nonprofits and the grantmakers supporting them to tools they can use and information they can trust. For a combined 88 years, the Foundation Center and fellow nonprofit information service GuideStar helped change the world by giving people the information they need to do good. In 2019, the two joined forces to become Candid.

As part of Candid’s Funding Information Network, the Fayetteville community has access to the Foundation Directory Online, a treasure trove of information on over 100,000 foundations and over 2.5 million recently awarded grants. While most private funding goes to nonprofit organizations, Candid also offers online access to Grants for Individuals, a database of more than 8,000 grantmaker programs that awards money directly to individuals.

Fayetteville Public Library cardholders have access to all materials and databases housed at the library. The library offers free cards to staff and board members of nonprofit organizations in Washington, Benton, Carroll and Madison counties.
