Get a head start on your summer vegetable garden with this seed starting workshop. Learn the benefits of growing from seed, how to select the right seeds, the essential materials you'll need, and a step-by-step process for starting strong seedlings. The workshop will also cover acclimating the seedlings to your garden, the basics of pollination, and bed rotation.

Joyce Hardin was born and raised in Central AR in the farming community of Scott. She earned a BS in Biology from University of Charleston, and both her MS and PhD in Crop Physiology from University of Arkansas. Although trained as a botanist, she taught a variety of biology classes at the University of Oklahoma, the University of Central Oklahoma, and 30 years at Hendrix College in Conway, AR, retiring in Spring 2019. She moved to Fayetteville in May 2024 with her husband to be close to her grown children and grandchildren.
