Volunteer opportunities include assisting with outreach activities, special events, the Friends Bookstore, shelving, library tours and much more. Volunteer placements are based on the needs of the library and specific departments. With a variety of tasks, volunteers can set their own hours and select which library functions to support.
LEARNS Act volunteer opportunities take place on Wednesdays from 5-7pm and Saturdays from 9-11am or 1:30-3:30pm. Opportunities may include dusting and/or polishing bookshelves, cleaning and/or straightening picture books, organizing Adult and/or Youth DVDs.
To accommodate community service-learning requirements, high school students will be given an opportunity to complete the minimum number of community service hours for each grade level: 15 hours for students in 9th grade, and 20 hours for students in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades.
Our ability to help you meet your volunteer requirements is based on library availability. Submitting a volunteer application does not guarantee immediate fulfillment.
