Author Jalissa Carter will explore the essential steps of self-publishing, from finalizing your manuscript to marketing your book.

In this lecture, we will explore the essential steps of self-publishing, from finalizing your manuscript to marketing your book. Participants will learn about the different publishing platforms, the importance of cover design, and effective marketing strategies to reach their target audience. By the end of the session, you'll have a clear roadmap to bring your book to life and into the hands of readers.

Jalissa Carter is a short story author, novelist, and poetess. Her debut novella, Testimonials Tales & Females, marked her entrance as an indie author. When not writing, Jalissa enjoys being a digital nomad and coordinator, alongside her husband. She loves pinning wedding anniversary ideas to share with her high school sweetheart on Pinterest. Jalissa resides in a charming mountain town in Northwest Arkansas with her husband, their beautiful daughters, and pet fish.

True Lit is in collaboration with the Fayetteville Public Library, Fayetteville Public Schools, Fayetteville Public Education Foundation, and University of Arkansas Program in Creative Writing and Translation.
