Join artist Tram Colwin as she discusses her exhibit "What We Carry", on display in the Lucky Day Lobby.

5:30–6pm: Reception in Lucky Day Lobby, just outside the Art & Movement Room

6–7pm: Panel discussion with artist Tram Colwin, along with selected refugee participants, and Khalid Ahmadzai, Senior Director of Development & Community Engagement of Canopy NWA including Question & Answer session. 

WHAT WE CARRY: A visual narrative of a people displaced, in search of belonging, by Tram Colwin.  

In collaboration with Iron Lotus Creative, What We Carry is designed to bring you a visual experience through paintings and video interviews from our local refugee and immigrant community, through a partnership with Canopy NWA. Together, this collection spotlights the unique experiences of families and individuals from 10 different countries across the globe.

Tram Colwin is a Vietnamese-American watercolor artist, educator, and small business owner. Her art highlights her love of nature and the beauty found there. Tram grew up in Northwest Arkansas when her family immigrated here in 1996. She is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University with a BA in Fine Arts, where she was named Outstanding Senior Artist. Recently awarded the Community Activator Grant through Mid-America Art Alliance Artists 360. Her work has been featured in magazines including FLUX Hawaii and At Home Arkansas. 

As an advocate of the creativity community, Tram helped co-found the Creative Social Retreat and Women of the Ozarks. 

In her free time she enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, and friends, exploring the outdoors and the foodie spots in Northwest Arkansas.
