You're invited to put on your dancing shoes and learn some easy and fun social dances from the 1800s!
Instructor Judy Costello and a group of Northwest Arkansas Historic Dancers will be teaching this class in costume. They will demonstrate each dance and then teach it to the group. The list of dances they will work from include the Virginia Reel, Gay Gordon, Gothic dance, Soldiers Joy and Jefferson Water Reel.
Northwest Arkansas Historic Dancers is passionately committed to the preservation and performance of historical dances from the 19th century. Their specialty lies in the intricate and elegant dances from the 1800’s. They meticulously research and recreate these dances, paying close attention to historical accuracy in both technique and style. The members of the NWA Historic Dance Group, do more than just dance.
