Local author and historian JB Hogan will lead a historical walking tour of Wilson Park.
Fayetteville's Wilson Park, our flagship municipal park, has an interesting history that conveniently breaks into three historical parts.
From its early days as a privately run park, to corporate ownership and then finally a city-owned park, Wilson Park has been our city's first and best-known location for citizens to enjoy the outdoors, swim, and play sports.
This relaxed, approximately one-hour tour highlights the history of Wilson Park and its natural beauty. Wear comfortable shoes and learn about the park as we casually stroll around the grounds.
Meet up is at the interpretive sign just outside the centerfield fence of the ballpark - close to the east end of the swimming pool.
