Join local author David Lane Williams and Jules Taylor for a reading from David’s newest book, a witty, big-hearted romp about misfits, miracles and the messy magic of the families we choose.
David Lane Williams and his best friend once used two gallons of go-kart paint on themselves one sweltering Texas afternoon in 1970. He recalls the liberal use of acetone, a bristle brush, and brand-new curse words by their parents—it explains a lot.
He recovered in time to pursue a decorated thirty-year career in public safety, with assignments in paramedicine, helicopter rescue, patrol, mental health outreach, and Special Investigations Unit detective. Today, he teaches criminology at the University of Arkansas and writes a monthly column for Killer Nashville Magazine. He and his family live in the Ozarks, where they offer a haven for rescued donkeys and horses.
In the Arkansas theatre world, Jules is an icon. At the Faculty of Arts Life Theatre in Fayetteville for nearly 20 years, she’s taught acting, comedy improvisation, musical theatre, and directing. Known for the statewide tour, digging up Arkansas, she used the stage to teach students from the Delta to the Ozarks the history of the Natural State. Jules has a Master of Arts in Theatre from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and Dance from The College of Santa Fe, NM.
