Share your original poetry or prose at this open mic session hosted by Na'Tosha De'Von. We are accepting 10 pre-registrations and will have space for an additional 5 walk-in participants the day of the program (first-come, first serve). This is the perfect chance to practice your speaking skills, share your art, and engage with your fellow local writers in a kind and supportive setting. We can't wait to see you there!
This event is part of our new annual Writers Weekend series for adults interested in writing and publishing their work, including poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and journalistic writing of all lengths and styles. Join us to sharpen your skills, connect with fellow writers, and take the next step toward publication!
Na’Tosha De’Von is an MFA actor from the University of Arkansas and published poet who holds a Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication & Theatre from Jackson State University. She is originally from Chicago, IL and was raised in Mississippi. She believes the purpose of her art is to expose and heal. One cannot heal the parts that are broken if they do not see them. The exposure, while brutal, is a necessary madness. She would like to think the first words she ever spoke were in the form of a metaphor. With that, she acknowledges the power of words. Her love for language has allowed her to develop poetry and take on the nuances of characters as an actor. She has spent her acting career focusing on Classical and Non-classical texts.
