Jazz Poetry featuring Gerry Sloan & Friends

Walker Community Room (3rd Floor)Join us for an afternoon of jazz poetry including original works by living poets and tributes to predecessors.
Each poet will choose a spontaneous accompaniment by either plucked bass or guitar. This event will create a platform for local voices and open our minds and ears to words and music in a new way.

Gerry Sloan retired from the Music Department at the University of Arkansas where he started the Jazz Ensemble, the Latin Ensemble, and taught Jazz History for over thirty years.
