A math group preparing 4th-8th graders for competition.
In partnership with the University of Arkansas, Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) is an international opportunity for students grades 4–8 to engage with mathematics to strengthen their problem-solving skills and meet with other students excited about mathematics.
Two teams will be created - one for students in grades 4–6 and one for those in 6–8. Students in grade 6 have the option of participating on either team. We will be meeting weekly to discuss general problem-solving strategies and to work on problems from competitions in previous years. These free meetings will take place from 5:30–6:30 p.m. starting Wednesday, October 20, and will continue through Wednesday, March 16. Five competitions will take place approximately once a month.
In keeping with the City of Fayetteville Ordinance 6465, all persons visiting the library are required to wear masks covering their nostrils and mouth.
