This is part two of a networking basics class designed for audio, video, and lighting technicians who are setting up or working with devices on a network.
Join us for part two of this networking basics class designed for audio-video and lighting technicians who are setting up or working with devices on a network. This class will help build an understanding of networking technologies to help foster communications between traditional AV and IT departments and will cover Layers 4-7 of the OSI networking model.
With the advent of inexpensive gigabit networks, traditional audio and video companies have been migrating away from proprietary transmission technologies to a network standards based method for sending audio, video, and lighting data across a traditional computer network. This is allowing a lower cost of entry to new AVL technologies in buildings with an existing network, but are also providing challenges and learning opportunities for AVL techs as their worlds are colliding with IT. These classes will help bridge the digital divide between AV and IT departments by creating a common knowledge framework for networking from the usage standpoint of an AVL technician.
Please complete part one before joining us for this class.
This program is designed for participants 15 and older.
