Join us to view and discuss the short documentary "Tang's Asian Market" by Ava Lowrey.

When Tom and Anna Tang moved to northwest Arkansas in the 1980s, there were few Asian-owned businesses and they were the first Chinese family in their town. Using family recipes, the Tangs opened the first Chinese restaurant in the town of Siloam Springs, the first of several successful Tang family businesses centered around Chinese food. Now their daughter, Shu Lan Tang follows in their footsteps and opened Tang’s Asian Market in 2013. This Southern Foodways Alliance documentary profiles Shu Lan Tang and Tang’s Asian Market.
