Join us to learn more about the end of Medicaid's continuous enrollment provision.
The State of Arkansas has started redetermining the eligibility of all Arkansans currently on any Medicaid program due to the end of the “continuous enrollment provision,” which prevented people from being cutoff Medicaid during the federal public health emergency. The Department of Human Services expects to cut hundreds of thousands of Arkansans off of Medicaid benefits between April and September 2023. The state has already started mailing out letters to last known addresses requesting information as a part of this process. Failure to answer these letters may result in automatic cutoff of Medicaid services.
In this presentation, Legal Aid of Arkansas’s Economic Justice attorney team will focus on what to look out for and potential pitfalls during this wave of redeterminations (known as the “unwinding”).
