Pitting brother against brother, the Civil War tore families apart and the Battle of Prairie Grove was no exception. Join a Park Interpreter for a talk on the Ryals brothers who were from Harrison and fought for different sides during the war. Both boys fought at the Battle of Prairie Grove and were never more than a mile apart on the battlefield. Workshop participants will get to try on period clothes, including uniforms and dresses. They will also be able to view a tent and a small collection of artifacts. The workshop will conclude with a craft called the bullroarer, which has a direct connection to the Trail of Tears, which goes through the park. Kids in grades K-4th are eligible to participate. Registration is required and opens Thursday, February 14.
