To thoughtfully recognize the upcoming holiday season, the focus of November's after-school workshops is giving to others. This third and final workshop supports the Ronald McDonald House at Washington Regional, which provides the families of young patients a cheerful, comfortable place to stay. The library will provide boxes and items for entertainment and play to place in them, but workshop participants are welcome to bring additional items to include. Requested items are:

  • Card games (deck of cards, Uno pack, etc.)
  • Word puzzles (word search, sudoku, crosswords, etc.)
  • Beads and string to make bracelets
  • Fun small plastic animals/dolls for imaginative play
  • Crayons and coloring books
  • Stickers
  • Little Golden books
  • Matchbox cars or other similarly-sized toys

ALL DONATED ITEMS MUST BE NEW, ABSOLUTELY UNUSED, AND STILL IN THEIR PACKAGING. Again, it is completely optional to bring items as we will provide plenty for each child to pack in a box. Participants will also decorate the boxes as well as cards to go inside them. Students in grades 2nd-4th are eligible to participate. Registration is required and opens October 31.
