In this workshop, participants will learn about the characteristics of Arabic music, how to think like a musician, and the mechanics of The Oud. Key learnings will include: Characteristics of Arabic music; how to listen, practice, and create; speaking Arabic music & Oud language; rhythms and melodies from the Arab world; and a look into the creative mindset of an Arab musician. Registration is suggested.

About the instructor:
Hadi Eldebek is a musician, educator, and cultural entrepreneur. He has delivered hundreds of workshops and performances around the world, including Harvard Graduate School of Education, Disney World, and The Kennedy Center. He joined Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble when he was 19, and leads the Brooklyn Nomads collective. His recently published TED Talk discussing the importance of arts and funding the artists has gained over 1,000,000 views so far.
