Please join us on Sunday, April 7 for an introduction to basket weaving with Jeannie L. Hornsby.  In this beginner workshop, participants will create a woven candleholder.  Class will be from 1:30-4:00pm in the Walker Community Room.

Registration is required and participants need to bring one bath-sized towel for their project.

Jeannie was born in Jonesboro and raised on a farm.  She earned a degree in Home Economics from the University of Arkansas.  She began learning basket weaving in 2004 and quickly became hooked on the art.  She earned many blue ribbons and a Grand Champion award at the Washington County Fair and Best of Show at the Little Rock State Fair for her work.  She is an active member of the Oklahoma, Missouri and Indiana Guilds and frequents basket-weaving conventions to learn new techniques.  She has travelled and taught basket weaving as far away as Alaska and now teaches monthly classes for the Washington County EHC.  She loves teaching beginners and thrives on the excitement they get from completing a project with their own hands.  Jeannie and her husband live on a cattle farm near Siloam Springs.
