The library will offer Tai Chi classes taught by Paul Davis Friday mornings in February from 9:30--10:30 in the Walker Community Room.
The Mayo Clinic defines Tai Chi as being a martial art originally developed for self-defense that has evolved into a graceful form of exercise used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Tai Chi focuses on physical and mental balance, incorporating slow movement, deep breathing, and a relaxed posture. The classes begin with a warmup using Qigong and then move into Tai Chi.
Master Paul Davis began training in the art of Shaolin-Do in 1998 in Austin, Texas. He currently has a 5th degree black belt in the external Kung Fu system and a 4th degree black sash in the internal Tai Chi and Chi Kung system.
