Given the heart's never-ending workload, it's a wonder it performs so well, for so long, for so many people.  But it can be brought down by a poor diet and lack of exercise, smoking, infection, unlucky genes, and more.  Although many people develop some form of cardiovascular disease as they get older, it isn't inevitable.  Learn more about the heart and how to keep yours healthy with Dr. Ashu Dhanjal.

Dr. Dhanjal is here as a representative of the American Heart Association.  She is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.  Dr. Dhanjal completed a cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic and did her residency at Marshall University after medical school at Lady Hardinge Medical College and Sucheta Kriplani Hospital in New Delhi, India.  She is currently a cardiologist at Northwest Cardiology in Fayetteville.
