During the Holistic Songwriting workshop, Christopher Felton will take some time to illuminate all of the basic building blocks of songwriting. From the light touch of the individual notes of a melody, the lush harmonies of notes working together, all the way to songcraft, structure and form, lyricism, and final arrangements. This is a workshop geared towards songwriters that are interested in understanding more about their craft, but is wholly designed to be understood by non-musicians and individuals that would like to gain a much deeper critical understanding of the songs that they love, by any artist. Our key goals are to identify and understand all of the components one would encounter in songwriting/composition in a way that is easily understood by all experience levels. This will culminate in the group assisting in a song being composed from scratch by the artist. The workshop will last approximately 3 hours with a short break included.
