Discover the vibrant world of Orphism in this guided paint along class.
This paint along class will explore a short-lived, abstract art movement called "Orphism", a form of art that embraced vibrant colors and focused on non-representational forms to create a sense of movement, energy, and rhythm in a piece. Our class will highlight and focus on the works of one of the pioneers of this art movement-Sonia Delaunay. Participants will view and create their own works inspired by the orphism movement and those of Sonia Delaunay.
All supplies are included.
Meet Art Girl Shay - Shay Holloway is a versatile, self-taught visual artist based in Springdale, Arkansas. Her deep interest in color psychology serves as the foundation for her use of color, guiding both aesthetic and emotional choices in her work. Shay has worked with organizations such as the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art—serving as a teaching artist with their mobile art lab—and has facilitated workshops for both children and adults throughout the Northwest Arkansas community. Spanning a range of mediums, styles, and subjects, Shay’s art explores the relationships between color, shape, and line, using their symbolism to guide her creative decisions. She sees her practice as a reflection of the way that she experiences life—a continuous journey of creative exploration, wonder, and discovery.
