Taller de escritura creativa: Espacios a la intemperie 

Este taller te proporcionará habilidades y herramientas básicas para producir un texto literario en español. Exploraremos la lectura y escritura de dos géneros: la poesía y el cuento. Además de reforzar tus competencias lectoras y gramaticales, no solo del idioma español sino también de ideas expresadas en esta lengua, en este taller aprenderás a analizar críticamente un texto creativo escrito y producirlo.

Es necesario registrarse.

Esta clase se impartirá en español.

Sobre la instructora:

La Dra. Erika Almenara es Profesora Asociada de Español y Directora del Programa de Literatura Comparada y Estudios Culturales en la Universidad de Arkansas. Fue becaria Fulbright (Perú 2022-2023) y presidenta de la Sección Perú de la Asociación de Estudios Latinoamericanos (LASA). Sus intereses de investigación y docencia incluyen la cultura oral, escrita y visual andina y del cono sur; la teoría literaria, crítica, subalterna y poscolonial, así como las teoría feminista y transfeminista. La Dra. Almenara ha publicado 3 libros de poesía,Reino cerrado (2006), Para evitar los rastros (2009), y PERHAPS (2018). Ha publicado también una serie de cuentos en distintas antologías.

Latino Poetry: Places We Call Home (Lugares que llamamos hogar) es una gran iniciativa pública en el campo de las humanidades, que se proyecta para el 2024 – 2025. Es dirigida por Library of América con el generoso apoyo del Fondo Nacional para las Humanidades y Emerson Collective.

Library of America es una organización no lucrativa que se dedica a enaltecer el legado cultural norteamericano a través de la publicación de obras imprescindibles en ediciones autorizadas. This workshop will introduce you to basic skills and tools needed to be a creative writer in Spanish. We will explore the reading and writing of two genres: poetry and short story. Besides reinforcing revising skills, not only of Spanish language but also of ideas, in this workshop, you will learn to analyze a piece of writing critically and produce one.

This class will be taught in Spanish.

Registration is required. 

About the instructor:

Dr. Erika Almenara is an Associate Professor of Spanish and Director of Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies at the University of Arkansas. She was a Fulbright Senior Scholar (Peru 2022-2023) and President of the Peru Section of the Latin American Studies Association (LASA). Her research and teaching interests include Andean oral, written, and visual culture; literary, critical, subaltern, and post-colonial theory, radical thought and avant-garde aesthetics in the Andes and the Southern Cone, as well as feminist and transfeminist theory.

This program is presented as part of Latino Poetry: Places We Call Home, a
major public humanities initiative taking place across the nation in 2024 and 2025, directed
by Library of America and funded with generous support from the National Endowment for
the Humanities.
