Join experts from the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) to learn historical hand-spinning techniques using a drop spindle.
Fiber arts students of all levels are invited to join us for a trip to the past! Learn the history and fundamentals of drop spindle, a primitive fiber-spinning tool that has been used for countless generations and remains a primary spinning tool throughout the world today. Drop spindles are portable, economical, and easy-to-use and have become very popular among current hand spinners for spinning fibers such as, wool, cotton, angora, and dog hair.
Supplies will be provided.
