Learning Lab: CNC Milling (Ages 13+) *

Learn about CNC carving! Completion of this Learning Lab is required for all users before booking an appointment to use the Nomad 3 CNC.

This orientation will focus on using the Carbide Nomad 3 for precision milling projects. We'll cover how to convert designs (including 2D and 3D files) into toolpaths, how to choose the rights bits for the job, and how to safely operate the machine. This Learning Lab is required for all users before booking an appointment to use the equipment. Learning Labs are designed for new Fabrication & Robotics Lab users to gain knowledge on specific equipment, including proper operating procedures and safety measures. Once patrons have completed the Learning Lab, they will receive a digital badge on their library card, allowing them to easily reserve lab equipment through FPL's website.
