Sunday, July 05
2:00pm - 4:00pm
Fayetteville Public Library
Starr Foundation Children's Craft Room (1st Floor)Create your own colorful jam jar lantern using simple materials and a little creativity!
Join students from the University of Arkansas School of Art in this fun hands-on activity. Participants will decorate a jar using vibrant tissue paper to design a glowing lantern they can take home. Choose from a variety of tissue paper colors and patterns, then cut or tear pieces into fun shapes to layer and arrange on the surface of your jar. As you build your design, you can experiment with overlapping colors and textures to create unique effects. Pre-cut shapes will also be available for younger participants.
Once your design is complete, you’ll finish your lantern with a handle and add an electric tea light to bring it to life. This activity is perfect for all ages and encourages creativity, exploration, and play through art. No registration required and materials will be provided while they last.
