With Kyndal Saverse
This 75min class will be a dance practice and CI (Contact Improv) theory workshop. We will warm up our bodies with various movements, we will learn about what CI is designed to accomplish, and we will play with various techniques and partner practices that will help us relate to this dance form.
Contact Improv (CI) is a beautiful way to enjoy our own bodies and to interact with other bodies in a mutually honorable yet playful way. (Touch is only one form of interaction and absolutely not required to participate.) Through this dance form, we allow ourselves to be moved by the collective container. We call this class improv because it is based on the choices we make in each moment. Being present, grounded, and open to experience is the foundation of our dance.
This is a very beginner friendly class. You do not need any pre-existing knowledge or understanding to take or to enjoy this class.
