Molly Throgmorton, Associate Director for Research Development at the University of Arkansas, will show participants how to write a winning grant proposal.
Intro to Proposal Writing will discuss finding potential funding sources for a grant, and then examine the steps in producing a quality proposal. Attendees will learn the parts of a proposal (Hello, measurable objectives!) and how to make them come together in a convincing draft, as well as the importance of submitting according to funders' guidelines.
Molly’s experience in the grant world has spanned over seven years. She first got started as a Development Coordinator at Walton Arts Center, then moved into Research Administration and then later Research Development at the University of Arkansas. In 2021, she became a Certified Research Administrator, and then was promoted to her current role of Associate Director of Research Development in 2022. In this role, this supports the University’s research priorities, brings together strong research teams, and improves the overall competitiveness of submitted research proposals. To date, her role in Research Development has helped investigators receive $21.85M in grant funding.
