Join the Arkansas Archeological Survey to learn how archeologists classify materials by working with actual artifacts from an archeological site in Arkansas.
Join us to work with an archeological assemblage from Arkansas. We will learn to think like archeologists to figure out what people were doing at this archeological site, what kinds of resources they were utilizing, and what kinds of technology they may have had at the time the site was inhabited. Students will learn how archeologists classify materials found in the archeological record and how they use them to draw conclusions about how people lived, made, and did things in the past. We will be working with actual artifacts from an archeological site in Arkansas and helping to create and maintain the scientific record of the materials.
