At the Upcycled Found Objects workshop you will learn how to give your old item new life! Join Tara Fletcher-Gibbs, experienced jewelry box rehabilitator, to learn the basics of painting over wood, sanding techniques for a vintage look, decoupaging using paper or photos and minor repair work to hinges, knobs and music boxes. Bring your favorite found object and let's give it a new look!
Participants are encouraged to bring their own collage items for the decoupaging (old photos, news papers, magazines, string, wood)
If you do not have a found object one will be provided for you.
This workshop is designed for ages 13+
About the Presenter
Tara Fletcher-Gibbs is a multi-disciplinary artist residing in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Her punch needle work has been exhibited frequently at Fenix Arts Gallery in Fayetteville, Arkansas where she also serves as an arts educator to LGBTQIA+ youth in Fenix Arts' F.Y.R.E. Program. She has led punch needle workshops at Crystal Bridges, the Amazeum and the Fayetteville Public Library. She enjoys using loud colors and even louder ideas in her art.
