Join playwright and Emmy award-winning television writer Mary Sue Price for an introduction to creating musical theater right here in the Ozarks.
Using examples from Streets of Gold, a musical set in 1990s Branson with music and lyrics by folk duo Robin and Linda Williams, Mary Sue will discuss how converting a book to a musical is different than writing a play, how to select songs and where to put them, and the challenge of combining words and music to tell a story. Why depend on musicals developed outside of our region? Let’s learn how build our own!
