Teen Volunteer Program

← Back to Volunteer at FPL

Our Teen Volunteer Program provides high school students with the opportunity to complete the service-learning hours required for graduation. Students are required to complete 15 hours in 9th grade, and 20 hours in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades.

Volunteer sessions

To provide volunteer opportunities for as many students as possible, the program is offered in two sessions each school year: Fall and Spring. Volunteers are assigned to one weekly volunteer shift during their session. Available shifts include Mondays from 4:30–6:30pm, Wednesdays from 4:30–6:30pm, or Saturdays from 9–11am or 1:30–3:30pm.

Volunteer opportunities include but are not limited to:

+ Special projects in the Youth and Teen libraries
+ Keeping the children’s area tidy
+ Organizing library materials
+ Dusting and/or polishing bookshelves
+ Cleaning and straightening picture books
+ Organizing DVDs
