Make a decorate a simple paper house

Join this drop-in paper craft workshop for families. What do you think of when you think of a home? Explore this idea with our visiting artist Sabine Schmidt and learn how to make and decorate simple miniature houses using a template and a variety of paper, cardboard, and card stock.  All materials will be provided. Suitable for children ages 6 and up or minimum age of completed Kindergarten. Younger children will need assistance with folding and assembly.

About Sabine Schmidt:

Photographer and writer Sabine Schmidt was born and raised in Germany and lives in the Ozarks. She holds an MFA in literary translation from the University of Arkansas. Her work has appeared in exhibitions and publications in the United States and Germany, including National Geographic and Rolling Stone. For the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute’s 2018 Art in Its Natural State program, she created the walk-in sculpture (In)Visible House, which explored themes of home and memory.
