During the Songwriting 101 workshop, working musician Christopher Felton will illuminate all of the basic building blocks of songwriting.
During the Songwriting 101 workshop, Christopher Felton will take some time to unravel the threads of songwriting. From the light touch of the individual notes of a melody, the lush harmonies of notes working together, all the way to songcraft, structure and form, lyricism, and final arrangements. This is a workshop geared towards songwriters that are interested in understanding more about their craft, but is wholly designed to be understood by non-musicians and individuals that would like to gain a much deeper critical understanding of the songs that they love, by any artist. Our key goals are to identify and understand all of the components one would encounter in songwriting and composition in a way that is easily understood by all experience levels. The workshop will last approximately 3 hours with a short break included.
All abilities are welcome. For disability accommodations, call 479.856.7050 or email centerforinnovation@faylib.org 2-3 days before a program.
