University of Arkansas Jazz Combos

Join us for some live jazz played by students from the University of Arkansas.

The University of Arkansas presents its Intermediate and Advanced Jazz Combos. The Intermediate combo, directed by Chris Peters, will feature Ryan Montemayor on alto saxophone, Joshua Caperton on trombone, Dylan Brown on piano, Kyle Telgemeier and Howard “Beck” O’Niell on bass, and Andrew Weidman on drums. They will play jazz standards and songs from the Great American Songbook as well as songs not seen in the jazz repertoire. The Advanced Jazz Combo, directed by Rick Salonen, will perform iconic tunes that represent some of the best compositions in the Jazz canon from such composers as Thelonious Monk, Benny Golson, Sonny Rollins, Horace Silver, Bobby Timmons, and Wayne Shorter.
