A math group preparing fourth through sixth graders for competition.
In partnership with the University of Arkansas, Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS) is an international opportunity for students in grades fourth through sixth to engage with mathematics, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and meet with other students excited about mathematics.
We will be meeting weekly to discuss general problem-solving strategies and to work on problems from competitions in previous years. These free meetings start on Wednesday, October 22 and will continue through Wednesday, March 11. Five competitions will take place approximately once a month. Meetings will follow the Fayetteville Public School and Fayetteville Public Library calendars.
This event is free and open to students in fourth through sixth grade. Students younger than 4th grade who wish to compete can contact kidsquestions@faylib.org.
Registration is required and will open for the whole series on Wednesday, October 1 at 7 a.m.
All abilities are welcome. For disability accommodations, call 479.856.7170 or email kidsquestions@faylib.org 2-3 weekdays before a program.
