Introduction to Knitting with Jane Millette *
Thursday, September 24
1:00pm - 4:00pm
Fayetteville Public Library
Art & Movement Room (2nd Floor)This class will explore the basics — how to start a knitting project, the essential stitches, and how to stop.
Jane Millette learned to knit when she was eleven years old, a very long time ago. She loves to share that skill today. She has entered her knitting in state fairs and won blue ribbons in each of the six states where she lived as an adult. Science has determined that the so-called “grandma skills” help us maintain our memories and promote better health. Besides that, they’re fun!
We'll discuss reading patterns and creating finished items. Students leave with the knowledge and hopefully understanding of how this ancient craft applies to today.
