Celebrate pride month with some great book recommendations from the Boxed Book Society!
Welcome to the Boxed Book Society!
Join Ms. Emily as she discusses June's theme: pride month. This month's featured book is "Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe" by Benjamin Alire Saenz. Our hybrid meeting (options for in-person and virtual) for the Boxed Book Society is Monday, June 28th at 4pm.
The Boxed Book Society is a monthly program that allows teens to participate in a reading program without the pressures of a traditional book club. Every month, teens in grades 7–12 can sign up to receive a book box - including a copy of that month's book, as well as other treats. Each month, there will be a short video to introduce that month's theme and book choice, as well as proffer recommendations to read within that month's genre.
While teens are strongly encouraged to read that month's book, we know that homework and after-school activities can be overwhelming. Even if you didn't get around to reading that month, come to the meeting anyway! We will talk about our favorite books, what we read that month, any maybe even books we read years ago!
Each month requires individual sign-ups, which allows you to choose which themes you'd like to participate in. Each month's sign up opens the first of the month at 9am. Registration for this program can be found under "Boxed Book Society Meeting - June - Pride Month" event listing on June 28th.
