This program includes and in depth guide to development support to help learners understand the phases to build a solid foundation for their business to grow.

Sierra Polk of the Blackground Agency will present "Idea to Income: Dedicated Development" for entrepreneurs. 

During this 2 hour-long program, attendees will participate in a guided presentation experience that teaches the basic developmental phases to build a solid business foundation for growth. These phases will be taught in a way that helps aspiring entrepreneurs take their business from IDEA phase to earning actual INCOME.
Sierra will cover the 5 “early growth” phases for small businesses while reviewing practical steps to encourage ownership, longevity, and community engagement. The goal is to help you create a foundation for your business to successfully grow with vision & purpose.

Sierra Polk, principal founder of Blackground, is a graduate of the HBCU of Maryland Eastern Shore
with a degree in accounting and decade in business, financial and organizational strategy.
Sierra’s talents were brought to NWA by way of her work with Walmart’s corporate
headquarters, managing and supporting various business areas across the retailer’s accounting,
finance and human resource departments. Sierra has also previously worked with the Greater
Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce as their director of talent and innovative inclusion
initiatives. Her responsibilities were to initiate programming focused on diversity engagement,
equity and inclusive workforce development through Leadership Benton County, the Young
Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), and the Build Bentonville Business lunches.

This program is funded by a grant received from the Walton Family Foundation.
