In this class, an instructor will guide you and your partner through the basics of vintage swing dancing.

Grab a partner and learn to lindy hop in the style of swing dancing that originated in the 1930's; East Coast Swing plus so much more! Participants will learn 8-count and 6-count footwork, how to swing out, add styling and glide around the dance floor!

Your instructor, Sydnie Kleinhenz, will guide you for through the basics of this partnered dance style. After this class, you will have the opportunity to try out your new moves in front of a live band on July 24th, when Western Swing Rules plays in the library's event center.

Sydnie Kleinhenz became interested swing dancing in 2010 and has been learning and practicing ever since. With many years of ballet and jazz in her background, a degree in Physical Education, thirteen years as a classroom teacher, and the ability to lead and follow, Sydnie looks forward to spreading the fundamentals of swing dancing with all the twirls and excitement of the original 1930’s and 1940’s Lindy Hoppers.
